Noel Rubinton examines JohnMcPhee’s incredible work

John McPhee was prolific to say the least. He is best known for his more than 35 books and 60 years as a writer for the New Yorker. In his book, “Looking for a Story: The Complete Works of John McPhee,” Village resident and author Noel Rubinton offers an in-depth look at the life and works of the Pulitzer Prize-winning author and a pioneer of a new style of journalism. In this comprehensive tome, Rubinton gives insights into McPhee’s techniques, choice of subjects, and research methods.

Join us on Monday, April 20, at 7 p.m., when National Public Radio’s Roving National Correspondent Frank Langfitt interviews the local author. Rubinton’s writing has appeared in publications such as the New York Times and Washington Post. He was a reporter and editor of Newsday for many years. He is a graduate of Brown University and has a lifelong interest in the writings of McPhee. Langfitt spent almost 20 years as an international correspondent, is a graduate of Princeton University, and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University.
