Join us on Friday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m., when Dr. Richard Kahn will review the difficulties in performing nutrition research, which invariably leads to conflicting advice on what to, or not to, eat. Kahn will review the misconceptions, in lay terms, surrounding the consumption of meat, ultra-processed food, organic vs non-organic food, and perhaps protein consumption. Prior to his retirement from the American Diabetes Association (ADA), Dr. Kahn was the Chief Scientific and Medical Officer for nearly 25 years. His many responsibilities included oversight for all professional education activities, the development of clinical practice guidelines, and professional books and journals produced by the Association. Following retirement, he was an independent consultant/ researcher until 2024. He has also been a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine since his retirement from ADA. Dr. Kahn received his doctorate in physiology from Georgetown University and has published over 70 scientific papers and numerous book chapters on the subjects of metabolism, diabetes, nutrition, and obesity. Registration is required. Click on “Sign Up for Programs” at the top of the page.
