Concert: Susan Jones Jazz Quartet

On Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m., the Susan Jones Jazz Quartet will play at the Village Center. Led by violinist Susan Jones, this quartet is a swinging, energetic, and highly entertaining group. After studying classical violin and discovering the sounds of legendary jazz great, Stephane Grappelli, Jones’ number one dream and lifelong passion has been jazz performance. The Washington Post wrote, “Jones is one of the best violinists in Washington, and in the relatively small world of jazz violinists, she’s developing an international reputation.”

Being based in the Washington DC area (a region with a diverse potpourri of venues offering a wide range of musical styles) has allowed her to create a multi-faceted career in music, satiating her desire to incorporate her many influences and to play almost constantly.
