A community dialogue will be led by Natalia Kormeluk and Mariana Poshyvailo on Thursday, October 20 at 7 p.m., at the Village Center. Natalia is an American citizen, teacher of history and studio pottery who arrived in the United States in 1955, after her parents were displaced by World War II. Mariana is from the Poltava region of Eastern Ukraine who arrived this July. Mariana is a college student enrolled at Montgomery College.
You can also see artist Judy Benderson’s beautiful 12 foot triptych Ukrainica painting, which was inspired by Picasso’s Guernica, during the talk. The piece of work will also be on display in the Village Center auditorium through Saturday, Oct. 22
