Discover the art of printmaking during a fun and beginner-friendly gelli print workshop with art instructor Connie Boneo on Thursday, Feb. 12, from 10 to 12:30 p.m., at the Village Center. Choose a winter- or Valentine-theme or both for your prints. Gelli printing is a type of mono printing that uses a flexible, gelatin-like plate to create unique, one-of-a-kind prints on paper or fabric. The process involves rolling water-based paint onto the plate, creating textures with various objects like stencils or leaves, placing paper over the design, and then rubbing the back to transfer the image to the paper. The cost is $40 for Village residents; $45 for residents, and includes instructions, and all materials to create several 6- by 6-inch prints. Register by Jan. 22 and pay $35. Residents may sign up immediately; nonresidents may sign up beginning Jan. 23. Registration is required to ensure a seat. To register, click on the “Sign-up for Programs!” button at the top of the page.
