Concert: Tribute to Duke Ellington with Herb Smith

Herb Smith plays sax, clarinet and flute. He started as a bebop performer in St. Louis and Memphis and came to the Washington area as Director of Jazz Studies at Howard University. He tailors his program to his audience and performs songs that will be familiar with an occasional nod to South America Jazz flute and maybe to Motown too. Smith was a performer/professor of jazz studies at Northern Virginia Community College and also spent three years with the 528 Air Force Band.
