Concert: Big Howdy

On Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. award-winning progressive bluegrass band, Big Howdy, will perform at the Village Center. Big Howdy is known for its powerful lead singing, rich vocal harmonies, and instrumental chops. With a repertoire that mixes bluegrass classics with emotionally compelling original songs, intriguingly novel instrumentals, and well-chosen contemporary material, Big Howdy presents bluegrass with modern polish while honoring the drive that lies at the heart of the music. The band features Dede Wyland (vocals and guitar), Randy Barrett (banjo, guitar, and vocals), Tom McLaughlin (mandolin, guitar, and vocals), and Ira Gitlin (bass and vocals).
