Mama Ayo commemorates the Kwanzaa holiday

Learn about the celebration of Kwanzaa when Ayo Handy-Kendi, “Mama Ayo” appears at the Village Center on Friday, Dec. 13, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. As “Mama Ayo–the Kwanzaa Storyteller,” she has presented notable performances locally at the National Theater, National Harbor, The Smithsonian Institution, Fort Dupont Summer Theater and various other venues in the Washington, D.C. area, and has been featured in numerous Kwanzaa, Juneteenth, and D.C. Emancipation Day events. She is founder and director of the African American Holiday Association. Registration is required.
